LAKE ANNA RESIDENCE
The Lake Anna project is a 2,000 square foot addition to a small three room cabin in central Virginia. The addition created a large, flexible space for the owner and her many guests. It connects with the lake and forest outside by framing views, bringing in ample natural light, and interior wood detailing. The open plan and two story atrium create sight lines for sign language communication, which is essential as many of the users (including the owner) are deaf. The two story space also draws heat up and helps passively cool the house. Floating lights above the dining table animate the main gathering space at night.
